Principal
Huff McGonigal has been working in the field of marine science and policy for 25 years. Prior to founding Fathom Consulting in 2006, Huff worked with Environmental Defense Fund as a Senior Project Manager, working to advance fisheries policy change and improvement projects that sought to align fishermen and conservation interests. Before that he worked as a Marine Policy Coordinator for the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary helping the Sanctuary address issues ranging from fisheries, to water quality, desalination, and coastal development. Further back, Huff worked with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife looking at the effectiveness of marine reserves and as a commercial diver.
Huff earned his Juris Doctorate from Lewis and Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon and his Bachelor of Science from U.C . Santa Barbara and the University of Otago in New Zealand. He lives in Santa Barbara with his wife and three children.
